What Will People Say About You After You Die? Your Posthumous Eulogy!

What will people say about you after you die? Have you ever thought about this…or do you care?

I use the word “die” very loosely because who we truly are is immortal. But one day we will all discard this body that we have been given for this experience on the third dimensional plane this time around. We will move beyond the five sense experience onto another plane of existence.

We may take on another body for further experiences in this world or go somewhere else. There are many options beyond the human experience, so there is nothing to worry about or mourn when another goes.

In Star Wars, Obi Wan Kenobi tells Darth Vader during their dual, “If you strike me down Vader, I will become more powerful than you can ever imagine”

Even when seeing that as a young child the statement rang completely true for me, and I have never seen death as the end, if anything it brings more freedom of expression of the essence our true being and nature, as Obi Wan stated in the movie.

Today, Victoria, Indigo and I attended a funeral of the mother of some friends. She left her body quite young at age 53 after struggling with a condition doctors labelled as cancer.

It was actually the most beautiful send off I had experienced. Her wish was that no one wore black and so we were all dressed in light colours, which in itself created a perceptual shift of the event. There were many beautiful words spoken and the feeling was very light, not the heaviness usually associated with funerals.

Afterwards Victoria and I spoke about what warm words everyone had to say about Maria, which were really quite moving. Victoria wondered what would people say about her when she eventually leaves her body, which brings up an interesting topic.

It’s something worth thinking about. What would your posthumous eulogy read like? Just thinking about it can make you step up to a new level of how you show up in life.

A powerful exercise is to actually write your own posthumous eulogy, exactly how you would like it to sound. Doing this will give you a new perspective on living and how you would truly like to live your life and show up everyday.

Doing this will shift your identity and uncover a greater and grander version of yourself. It will also bring you more to terms with the apparent reality that one day you will leave the body that you are in once it has served its purpose.
