What did Napoleon Hill say about disloyalty?

Napoleon Hill said that disloyalty marks one as less than the dust of the earth.

He teaches that we should be loyal to those who have earned our trust.

Loyalty gets rewarded in the long run.

I have witnessed it time and time again, when the student has been
disloyal to the master and as a result they have floundered. And
more often than not unless they have denied it they will regret
their disloyal actions.

We can see this in many stories throughout history. Judas probably being
the most famous story of disloyalty. We can also see many stories were
loyalty was rewarded.

Look to the masters and their behaviour. They too had masters,
and that is how they became masters, by being loyal to their masters.

Plato was Socrates loyal student for over forty years and because of
it made his mark in history and influenced nearly every other great
philosopher in the western world that came after him.

People have asked the grandmaster of the martial art I practice
why he was chosen by his master to become the next grandmaster.

He would openly acknowledge that he was not the most skilled student
at the time, but he had something else that his master noticed in him.

I believe this was loyalty and because of his loyalty to his master he is
the only recognised student of the previous grandmaster.

What happened to the other students?

They all must have floundered, otherwise they would have progressed
and be known as great masters today.

I will be a loyal student of his until he decides to leave his body
and I will continue to be loyal to his spirit after that.

Of course there are many charlatans out there masquerading as this
or that, so it is important to look deeply at the person we wish to learn
from and be able to discern if they are a true master of their craft
or not.

I have those I am loyal to in martial arts, those that I am loyal to in
business and those that I am loyal to in friendship.

My hope here is that you think about your own loyalties and
maybe even disloyalties. Often it is arrogance and over aggrandizing
ourselves that can lead to disloyalty and so being humble
will take us a long way in staying centred on our path.

Todays power question: “Who do I have in my life that deserves my complete loyalty?”

Todays power statement: “The greatest masters are the greatest servants!”
