The Four Questions You must Ask When Everything Goes to Shit!
The four questions you must ask when everything goes to shit!
When something goes wrong, how do you handle it? Most people get angry, stressed, beat themselves up or start blaming other people for their stuff!
Almost on a daily basis there is stuff that doesn’t go right for us, but how many people have an effective strategy for dealing with it?
This isn’t something you learn in school so very few people have an effective strategy, unless they seek one out.
Let me give you an example:
Just a few moments ago I finished writing a blog post, which had taken me about an hour and I was very pleased with it. Before I clicked publish I was distracted by Victoria asking me to do something, so I got up and did it, came back to my literary masterpiece to see that I had been automatically logged out of my blog site.
My work was gone. I felt the frustration rising up in me and a range of various thoughts and feelings came to me. I could blame Victoria, for calling me away, or I could blame myself and beat myself up for a while and tell myself how stupid I was not to save my work.
I didn’t do any of the above, but instead I asked myself the question “What other empowering meaning can I give this?”
This immediately shifted my perception to, maybe my rewrite will be twice as well written!
I then asked “What can I learn from this?”
Well I suppose that in future I will write any long articles or blogs in a word document and save it often.
The next question I asked was “how can I integrate this into my life right now?”
I immediately empowered myself and opened a word document and started re-writing my blog post.
The fourth question I asked was “how can I empower others with this learning?”
Straight away the answer came to me, to write a blog post about it so others could learn this four power question strategy for when everything goes to shit!
Of course this was a minor mishap, but the strategy works the same for whether you go bankrupt, are in an accident or your marriage falls apart.
It is something that has to be trained and programmed in to the brain often with small things, so when the odd big thing happens, habit will take over and you will be able to handle it.
Make sense?…Great!
Now what you want to do is write down the four power questions and stick it up above your desk, or somewhere, where you will see it often until they are ingrained into your brain!
