How to be Successful in Blogging and Make Serious Money

Most people aren’t ready to hear the secret of how to be successful in blogging and make some serious money! But it is really quite simple and I am going to give it to you straight.

In life there are dabblers, stressors and masters. The dabbler will do something for 3 to 6 months, not see to much results and then move onto the next thing.

Then there is the stressor who will work at something for a while and not see the results they expected, so they will stress about it. Without giving up they will carry on in a somewhat hectic and unbalanced fashion until they get the results they desire. The down side to this, is that they will have lost some harmony in their life, be it a relationship, their health or something else that they may have neglected in their time of stress.

Then there is the master, and the master does not give up and the master does not stress, because the master knows that there are various stages to all success and even a trickle of water making its way down a hill can, with the right set of circumstances turn into a gushing river. And the small successes we have can over time compound and turn into much, much larger successes. It is within our power to create those circumstances so that our success becomes guaranteed.

To become the master we must listen and learn from other masters who have tread before us. I resonate with a seasoned pro blogger called Steve Pavlina. He runs the blog called “Personal Development for smart people” He is a personal development junkie like myself and he is also vegan.

It saddens me a little when I see people give up way to soon on their dreams. If only they knew that the obstacles were there to make them stronger and wiser, not so that they quit. The lack of results appear so that they can draw on their faith to keep going and find a deeper motivation rather than just outer results.

Please read below a portion of a recent blog from Steve Pavlina as he talks about his early career as a pro blogger.

“If you want to start on a serious career path, don’t even think about giving up during the first year. Very little happens during the first year in terms of results. Most businesses aren’t even profitable in their first 2 years; it takes them that long just to become sustainable, even for fairly small businesses.

So many would-be pro bloggers give up in their first 6 months. They get bored, lose interest, or get a “better” idea for some other venture. I see them change topics or URLs and start over once or twice a year. After five years of this kind of dabbling, they’ve still barely gotten anywhere. They keep erasing what little progress they’ve made, so they never have the chance to develop anything serious and enduring.

When it comes to building any sort of business, either online or offline, this dabbling approach is a bit ridiculous because the real payoff from business comes from consistency over a period of years. It takes time to build a following, attract customers, develop products and services, gain links and search engine placement, generate referrals, develop good business sense, acquire expertise, and figure out how to generate income from your work in ways that feel congruent to you.

It took 25 months from when I started blogging to pass $10K/month in income from it, which happened in 2006. In the first 6 months, however, my blog only made $167 total, mostly from Amazon’s affiliate program. If I gave up during that time and started over, I’d never have enjoyed the long-term benefits of this path. Most professional bloggers, however, give up well before they reach this point. They see weak financial results during their first year just as I did, but they conclude it’s not worth continuing if they haven’t made it sustainable by then.”

So it took Steve Pavlina two years to pass 10k a month…worth it right? Steve has now been blogging consistently for almost a decade and has become a household name and sought after speaker and consultant all over the globe. Steve Pavlina commands $5000 dollars just for a telephone consultation these days!

That is the power of being persistent and consistent. There is no fluke there. This is the pattern of all successful people. Bloggers often contact me and tell me that they have been blogging for a couple of months, or making videos on Youtube and they haven’t seen the results that they see me getting. Impatience is immaturity in action.

It is important to enjoy the journey as much as anything. For me it is a joy to write a blog post or make a video and upload it to youtube. I can see myself still blogging and making Youtube videos 5 years from now and that is the key! What will you be doing 5 years from now? If you can’t clearly define it, then start working it out now, because having a clear and compelling vision is crucial to your success.

Some people are just pure marketers and all they are interested in doing is affiliating to products, with no interest in blogging or making videos, and that is great for them if they are still going to be passionate about doing what they are doing in 5 years. I chose blogging and making videos because I love doing it for many reasons. Personal development has always been a passion of mine and so I focus my blog on that.

If you haven’t had the success you want yet with blogging then you need to get serious with it and make a real commitment. Some people say that they will give it 90 days and if they don’t see results then thats it! I challenge people to give it 1000 days of daily action. Imagine if you wrote a blog and made a video everyday for 1000 days. Not only would your income grow in leaps and bounds but you will also grow in leaps and bounds.

Stop looking to make a quick buck and start looking to do something that you are prepared to master and stick with for at least 3-5 years of daily work. When I think about making a video and writing a blog everyday for 5 years, the idea excites me. It is not always easy. I don’t always feel creative and if I have had a busy day with other commitments, it might mean staying up half the night to complete my daily tasks.

You can be a successful blogger and make serious money. It simply takes a decision to do it and I have made It easier for all concerned with my One Thousand Day Challenge which I offer with the most powerful turnkey blogging platform and system in the world.
