How To Achieve The Most Unbelievable Goals And Become a Jedi, Ninja or Badass!

Some of the goals I have achieved in my life have been considered unbelievable by others, but to me it was simply what I desired; and a desire, desired enough will manifest!

I remember having four big dreams when I was a child and most people just considered them unbelievable. I wanted to be a Ninja (what kid doesn’t?) an elite soldier, an author and I wanted to make movies.

When I told people that I wanted to be a ninja they told me that I had watched too many movies and ninja’s were stuff of fantasy. I actually remember my mum asking me once what I wanted to be when I grew up and I told her I wanted to be a ninja and she told me not to be so stupid.

So even though no one believed (apart from me) that my goal was realistic, I did actually become a Ninja. I moved to Japan in my early twenties and trained with the Ninja Grandmaster and his top level students and over many years of committed and diligent training achieved the rank of 9th Dan black belt.

I wanted to be an author but I was the worst in my class at reading, writing and spelling. I would literally get zero out of twenty in class spelling tests and neither I nor the teachers could work out why I wasn’t able to pick it up.

I was almost considered a lost cause but then I was pulled out of class and sent to a remedial teacher. It was just me and one other kid in the class. He was diagnosed with dyslexia and also had a problem with reading and spelling.

The remedial teacher was genius and she made reading, writing and spelling fun for us. We would play spelling and word games like hangman amongst others. I used to look forward to her classes as there was no pressure and they were like I said, fun.

I was inserted back into regular class a year later and suddenly I went from bottom of the class to top of the class, going from zero out of twenty in spelling tests, to twenty out of twenty. What changed?

Well my brain just worked a little differently from others and the standard way of teaching didn’t work for me. I was very kinaesthetic, and for me, feeling was everything. With my new association of learning reading and writing being fun allowed me to then excel at it! And I did go on to become a international selling author.

The goal of making movies seems like a really big one. Most of us think of Hollywood Blockbusters, and sure I would love to be involved in the making of big movies like that, but I realised something when I went to Hollywood to make this dream a reality.

Hollywood is jammed full of talent and most of them are working in Starbucks and in many other minimum wage jobs, while they hope their dreams will become reality. Many of them had been swallowed up by the monster known as Los Angeles and their dreams a distant memory.

I decided that I wasn’t going to live like this, hoping for a big break! I coached a few celebrities while I was there and was gobsmacked by the gap between the elite ‘A’ listers and those on the next rung down.

There were people there that were much more talented and experienced than me that had been there for over a decade tirelessly trying to get their big break, still having to work a job just to get by. Besides that, to really stand a chance in Hollywood you had to be part of some special group or secret society, and for those that weren’t, it was really a shot in the dark.

My eyes were opened and so instead of handing my power over to the producers and casting directors of Hollywood in hope, I was going to start a Youtube channel and make my own movies. I decided that I was going to live my dreams everyday.

Now that Youtube channel has given me an income were I don’t have to work for anyone else, and the next thing is to open my own production company and start producing my own feature length movies. Screw Hollywood, who needs it! 😉
