How To Feel Great-Fast! Harvard Scientific Study Reveals…
I talked about the fundamentals of this in my last post/message. Incase you missed it, it is important to go back and read it now. It was titled “What do you do if you feel like crap?”
Now lets take it to the next level. The fastest way you can feel great is to make a physiological shift with your body. What we do with our body has a knock on affect with our biochemistry, which then affects how we feel.
We have known this for a long time, thousands of years actually, but it is only recently that Harvards scientists conducted a study to confirm this to be the case.
They noticed a variety of interesting findings with the study, such as an increase in testosterone levels from simply maintaining good posture.
Power postures such as stretching the arms out to the side or putting the hands behind the head or on the hips and standing tall gave the student instant confidence and they were able to cope better in interviews and perform at a higher level in exams when engaging in such postures beforehand.
It is no wonder that dancers, gymnasts and martial artists have a an air of certainty and confidence about them. Powerful Postures and exact movements are the name of the game for them.
What also happens when we maintain good posture is that we breathe more deeply which is paramount in feeling great!
So start now! Become aware of your posture—it only takes a moment to lift your chest, straighten your back, allow your shoulders to roll back, make the back of your neck long and look up!
Notice how your breathing deepens when you improve your posture and how you start to feel even better. Now bring your hands out to the side, palms facing foreward, opening your chest even more and notice how you start to feel more powerful and confident.
Have you ever noticed how many goal keepers will jump up and down a few times with their hands out to the side before receiving a penalty kick, or how the New Zealand All Blacks rugby team will do their Haka dance before a match and they nearly always win!
The secret to feeling great and winning in life is apparent all around us, but so many are programmed into believing that it is contained in a pharmaceutical pill or in an alcoholic beverage.
Maybe it is time to join that martial arts class, yoga, dance or something else that suits your personality and take it all to the next level!
