How To Get Really, Really Focused!

How To Get Really, Really Focused!

How To get really, really focused!

I have heard the expression before that in this day and age with so much stimulous and distraction that we have to “fight for focus”.

Things are definitely different in the 21st century than in previous centuries, and so therefore some of our strategies have to be different. Every time we get distracted it can take us 15 minutes to get back in the zone of focused creativity.

Todays distractions are email, fb messages, phone ringing etc, etc. To shut out these distractions it is wise to simply turn all these things off. Close all windows on your computer that don’t need to be open, turn off your cell phone and schedule specific amounts of time for each project, giving them 100% attention.

It is also a good idea to use a timer so that you are not tempted to look at the clock. The timer will let you know when to stop working. Aim to magnify your focus like you would take a magnifying glass and focus the suns energy to create fire.

Your own focused energy can also manifest something out of nothing and it will seem like magic, just like to the caveman the creation of fire with a piece of glass is magic. But you know that it is a law of physics.

Your own focused attention on a particular vision and then manifesting that is also physics, but do not discount your power to manifest almost anything through focus just because it is not measurable by the relatively primitive science of humans.

Simply look to all great accomplishments of the past and they all started with an idea, and then focused attention on that idea until such times as it manifested.

Take the idea that you are most enthusiastic and inspired by and then give it your focused attention and you will accomplish great things!

Todays power question: “What am I most enthusiastic and inspired about?” (clue: focus all your attention on this!”) 😉

Todays power statement: As I focus on my most inspiring vision, my enthusiasm magnetically attracts it into my life!”

Part 5 “Leg Break” (Continued from yesterday)

I noticed in Hunter troop that most of the recruits had given up. I distanced myself from them and only be-friended those that were eager to get back into a regular troop and complete their commando training.

My ‘poor me’ mentality faded quickly and realised that I had an opportunity to upgrade myself on every level. I would spend an hour in the swimming pool every morning, not able to kick my legs, swimming only using my arms my cardiovascular fitness reached levels that I had never experienced before as my lungs stretched to accommodate the Co2 demands I was putting them under.

I would spend another hour in the gym every morning, building my upper body. The afternoons were spent studying map reading, military knowledge and anything else that would give me an advantage when I was eventually inserted back into commando training.

5 months went by, my leg healed and I was more than ready to get going again. There was one problem. The next troop coming through had an infamous sergeant who despised anyone that was back trooped and ended up in his troop. He was known to make life hell for them and see that they were back trooped a second time, even going as far as to fill the recruits pack with rocks to make sure that they failed criteria tests, or thrash them to exhaustion and sleep depriving them before even taking the test. He was to be my new troop sergeant! –Conclusion tomorrow!!

With appreciation,

Matthew Armstrong
