Financial Freedom in 100 Days #10 – How To Be Successful
To create financial freedom in our lives we need to learn and understand how to be successful as the mind can trick us into sabotaging our own success.
If we have any limiting beliefs surrounding creating success in our lives then the chances of becoming successful past any sort of mediocre level are going to be close to zero.
I had a limiting belief that too much success corrupts. I think I got this from watching Miami Vice and Dallas in the 80′s. So careful what you let your kids watch on TV. Even seemingly harmless family programs can have a detrimental effect on the mind.
Victoria questioned my unconscious limiting belief as it had now come to the surface and was ready to be exorcised or squeezed out like a bubbling spot on the face. No need to go visual on that one.
I felt agitated and irritated, not knowing what was going on with me. I felt massive resistance to doing any work that day, but forced myself to anyway.
I was resisting success. Victoria asked me some quality questions and my surprise answer was that I was afraid of success and didn’t want it because successful people become corrupted.
After more questioning, I had an awareness that this wasn’t true, especially in my case and that the more success that I had then the more it would magnify all the great and virtuous things that I was doing…and I say that humbly.
The simple awareness of this unconscious limiting belief around success was all that was required to let it go and then take on a new potent belief that the more successful I become the more peace, ease and abundance I will experience in my own life and be able to transmit out to others as well.
We all have thresholds in our mind to various things. This can also be seen as a thermostat. Whatever experiences we have had in our life and the meaning that we have given them will determine where our thermostat is.
For example we will have a thermostat for the amount of body fat we have. Maybe the upper level is 20% and the lower level is 10%. If we see our body fat going over 20% then we will diet and workout, then once it gets down to 10% we feel comfortable and stop eating right and drift away from our workout routine.
We also have a financial thermostat that maybe for example $5000 clear in the bank on the upper level and on the lower level it might $1000. We may work very hard and get up to $10,000 and then sabotage our success so we can go back down within range of our thermostat. When we go below $1000 then the thermostat kicks in again and we crank up the work load until we are at a comfortable level again.
The way to blast this thermostat into the stratosphere and achieve massive success is to have a vision of what you want to create and a very strong reason why and sense of purpose of why you want it. Then when you hit the thresholds of the mind you will keep pushing until you breakthrough.
Understanding these key points is the how to become successful and create financial freedom in your life.
