Your Mission, Should You Choose To Accept It?
Your Mission, Should You Choose To Accept It?
I remember going to a Tony Robbins seminar and he said something that stuck with me. Tony said “If you have a job then you will live an unfulfilled life. If you have a career, you have some fulfilment in life-but if you have a mission then you will live a completely fulfilled life!”
Those may not have been his exact words, it was 10 years ago, but it was words to that effect. It stuck with me and I have seen the truth in those words over the years from my own stages of development to that of those around me.
Of course there is a little more to it than this and it relates to men more than women. For many women their mission is their children and they will also have a job, but still be completely fulfilled because they have linked their job to their mission, as through the job they are able to provide for their children. There are other exceptions as well, so this is a general rule!
I just want to get you thinking about why you are here, in this body, this time around! What inspires you, what is important to you and what unique gifts and talents do you have to offer the world?
Whatever answers you get from these questions will give you an idea of what your mission might be. It is wise to get clear on it and write down the specifics of what it is.
If you were to ask 100 people on the street, are they living a fulfilling life, how many would be able to answer with a resounding YES! Not very many. Ask the same people what their mission is and the only ones that will be able to clearly tell you are those that are able to give you that resounding YES!
This gives us an idea that fulfilment in life is closely connected with having a mission and also making consistent progress towards the fulfilment of that mission!
One of the recruiting tactics of the scientology religion is to ask people on the street if they are happy or not. They cleverly ask this question because they know that the vast majority of people will say no, and then this leads them to showing that person a way to be happy. They basically give them a mission and daily training to progress with it!
I am open to learning from all religions and philosophies in life because everything has something of value to offer. In a future blog and email I will tell you all about my very interesting time learning from the scientologists. I think I might title it “The One That Got Away! ” 😉
Todays power question: “What is most important to me in life and how can I turn it into my mission that I make daily progress on?”
Todays power statement: “I am committed to making constant daily progress on that which most inspires and fulfils me.” (Write down your inspiring mission statement and attach it onto this, and speak it daily!)
