How To Triple Your Productivity
John Paul Getty was at one time was the richest men in America and his number one principle for productivity and success in any area was to get up early. Seems too simple doesn’t it, but there is more to it than the rational mind might think. I mean how often in our lives have we rolled out of bed after hitting the snooze button 3 or 4 times, to then be immediately releasing stress hormones, worrying about being late for work or the thought of hitting the morning rush hour. Instead of starting our day being present, calm and relaxed, we are in a rush, with less control, and how we start our day is generally how we carry it on.
Having the discipline to switch off the TV or laptop and going to bed before tiredness kicks in, is a great thing. It means we go to sleep in a good state and then wake up in a good state. Being able to name 10 things we are grateful and appreciative for before going to sleep and then doing the same thing again in the morning before rising, sets up a vibration of gratitude which is likely to carry on throughout the day and attract more things into our life to be grateful for.
I have been known to say “If you really want to thrive you must rise at 5″! There is something magical about getting up at this time or earlier and to triple ones productivity and success in whatever we do, I find it key! But not just getting up and watching CNN for 2 hours, as that would only decrease productivity. When we get up at this time we want to move with intention through a morning ritual which might last an hour or more.
My morning ritual consists of 1 pint of water, 5 minutes of rebounding, 15 minutes of yoga, 20 minutes meditation, followed by at least 20 minutes of creative writing and sometimes more depending on the flow I get into. By the time I complete this most folks are just waking from their slumber and many are hitting snooze!
There are 2 more key principles and strategies to triple your productivity, with the first being nutrition. I start my day by drinking up to 1 litre of freshly made green juice, followed by a fruit smoothie of over 1 litre, which works out together to be over 1000 calories and this supercharges my engine and senses right up till lunchtime.
The third key to triple your productivity is simply writing down 6 or 7 items a day that will move you towards your vision of what you want to create and achieve in your life. These are your highest priority action steps and without a doubt will at least triple your productivity and progressive results as you successfully move through life.
I made this video a while back on virtually the same subject.
