1000 Day Challenge – Are You Badass Enough to Pick up The Gauntlet!
1000 Day Challenge – Are You Badass Enough to Pick up The Gauntlet!
Today is day 2 of my 1000 day challenge. I am quite well known for my 30 day and 100 day challenges. I did 30 days of uberman polyphasic sleeping, which was fairly ninja!
I have drank only fresh fruit and vegetable juice for 100 days and also packed on over thirty pounds of muscle in 100 days on a vegan diet…it’s the stuff of Jedi’s you know! 😉
At the moment I am on day 22 of mono eating bananas and will introduce other foods after 30 days.
I like to do challenges which are good for the health, increase productivity or are in some way related to personal development.
By doing these challenges and documenting them on video (vlogging) and blogging them, keeps me on point and also inspires others to do the same.
I like to bust mythical belief systems, such as “you can’t build muscle on a vegan diet”!
I find that when I don’t set myself challenges then life steps in and challenges me anyway in another form. When I do set myself challenges, then I get to grow, be empowered, which then motivates and inspires others to take action on their dreams and vision for life aswell.
It’s how I like to live my life, because it is a win, win for everyone!
As Helen Keller once said “Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all”!
While mono eating bananas I became inspired to do the 1000 day challenge. Thats what happens when you are not thinking about your next meal or trying to decide what you are going to eat…your brain suddenly has more space for new inspirations to enter.
I decided that a 100 day challenge was playing too small and that I should up it to 1000 days. I remember reading about monks in Japan who would walk through the mountains North of Kyoto for 100 days straight, walking more than a marathon every day.
I was quite young when I read this and I felt a pull to do it some day and maybe I still will. I walked over 900 kilometres along the Santiago Trail with my girl friend Victoria and our 6 month old baby Indigo last winter. That was fun!
The Japanese monks also had a 1000 day challenge as well, which involved a thousand days of walking and in the last year they had to walk 83 km per day over mountanous terrain.
Failure to complete the challenge meant that the monk must take his own life…that’s just how the Japanese used to roll!
Suffice to say only 46 monks have completed the 1000 day challenge in the last 150 years. Now that’s what I call Badass monks!
So those Japanese monks inspired me and now maybe you would like to join me in a 1000 day challenge, to completely transform your life.
Tune in tomorrow for the next instalment of the 1000 day challenge!
